42”L x 25”H x 6 1/2”W
There is a level of substance and gravity to the Spokane that is similar to many from that region—the Northwest. It is neither terribly plain, nor excessively rich. The functions are delivered in a fairly compact and efficient manner. If it were a house, perhaps someone would call it a “B” property. That, of course, is the attraction for me. The truth of our heritage and culture is perhaps not wrapped up in the grand historical events, but rather an aggregation of many semi-ordinary and basic daily occurrences. Winslow Homer and Edward Hopper elevate and reveal the ordinary to a great degree—perhaps by accident on their part. I think they, too, reveled in what most saw as plain, and not too grand.
